MA1-45 Frequently Asked Questions

What materials can I weld?

Stainless steel, carbon steel/iron, aluminum, galvanized steel and brass. The MA1-45 reaches up to 0.18" (4.5mm) on steel & stainless and 0.16" (4mm) on aluminum.

Does it use regular welding wire?

Yes, standard solid wire, just not flux core. The included wire feeder takes 0.8 to 1.6mm wire.

Does it use regular shielding gas?

Yes. 100% nitrogen for steel and stainless, 100% argon for aluminum.

Is it really that easy to learn?

Yes. Beginners can lay good welds after 1–2 hours of training and reach proficiency in 1–2 weeks. On-site training from our team is available, priced by location.

What are the consumables?

Protective windows, copper nozzles, focus lenses, and wire feeder nozzles and liners. The Starter Kit covers about 6 months of normal use.

Is it really that fast?

Up to 10x faster than TIG on steel, according to THEO. Actual speed depends on material, thickness and joint. Book a demo and see it on your parts.

What power do I need?

200–240 VAC single-phase shop power. It's air cooled, so there's no chiller to plumb in.
