Who the MA1-65 is built for
The MA1-65 is the workhorse of the THEO MA1 line. It's built for fabrication shops, ornamental and architectural metal shops, and contractors whose daily work is sheet, tube and plate up to 1/4". If most of your welding is 1/8" and thinner, the MA1-35 or MA1-45 will save you money. If you regularly weld past 1/4" or run long production shifts, step up to the MA1-Ultra. Not sure which fits? Take the 2-minute Equipment Fit Assessment or book a free hands-on demo.

Customer Testimonials
Safety, safety, safety is all you hear from other people but no one can give you a practical answer on how to set up the laser equipment and use in a safe manner. PLS took our call, walked through our shop and gave us practical advice & recommendations to set up in a way to maintain our production flow while keeping our people safe. Without them this initative would have fallen flat on its face.
Julian Nunez
We knew laser welding was the best move for our business, but getting our welders on board was going to be a battle. Thanks to the on-site training and insights that PLS has fabricators using the same equipment our guys were bought in from day 1. They truly are a partner in integration.

Want to learn how laser welding works?

Eliminate 80% of your post weld clean up
Precision welding means your filler ends up where it is needed, the weld joint. Increased weld penetration with decreased weld build up, adds strength to your process and decrease in post-processing time.

New Operators Trained in hours
Equipment optimized travel speed and wobble weave function means your hiring & training program just got easier. New operators are production ready in 8 hours and experts in months.

74% reduction in Consumables per inch of welding
Equipment Optimized filler placement, travel speed, and wobble uses less per inch of weld. Helping save you money in what you use every day. Use better, save more.

MA1-65 Frequently Asked Questions
Is the MA1-65 the right size for my shop?
If most of your work is sheet, tube and plate up to 1/4" (6.5 mm), yes. That covers the bulk of fabrication, ornamental and architectural metal work. If you mostly weld 1/8" and thinner, the MA1-35 or MA1-45 will cost less. If you regularly go past 1/4" or run continuous production, look at the MA1-Ultra.
What power does the MA1-65 need?
It runs on 220V single-phase power on a 30A circuit, which most shops already have. It's air-cooled, so there's no chiller, no water lines and no freeze risk. We'll match the plug to your shop's existing setup.
How much does the MA1-65 cost?
The MA1-65 is $19,980 with the wire feeder and wobble welding included. Financing is available through U.S. Bank. Most new owners also add the MA1 Consumables Starter Kit and laser safety PPE, so ask us for a complete quote.
What gas and wire does it use?
Argon or nitrogen shielding gas, and standard solid welding wire from 0.8 to 1.6 mm matched to the metal you're welding. Because the laser places filler only where it's needed, you'll use noticeably less wire per inch than with MIG.
How long does it take to train an operator?
New operators are typically production-ready in about 8 hours. Factory presets handle the common materials and thicknesses, and PLS provides on-site training at your shop so your crew learns on your own parts.
Can I try the MA1-65 before I buy?
Yes. We offer free hands-on demos where you can weld your own parts and see the results first. Short-term rentals are also available on select machines if you want more time with it on a real job.
